Operation Green Line
Operation Green Line’ coincides with the start of the ‘gypsy’ season, a two-month period across June and July when large numbers of stock are shifted from farm to farm.

MOTO NZ Chairperson, Dr Gareth Morgan, says although progress has been made on this issue it remains too common a hazard for road users and for motorcyclists it’s particularly dangerous.

MOTO NZ are launching an appeal to all road users to report spillages. “It’s not a case of dobbing in farmers or truck drivers – we’re after better data on the extent and location of these problems so we can work with the livestock industry to improve compliance with the guidelines,” says Morgan.

Motorcyclists – and car drivers - are encouraged to report any effluent spills by texting DUNG to 244 or they can go to MOTO NZ website and file a quick report.

ACC Levies - Keep it active
Since 1st July 2010 we're charged the new higher ACC levies to register our bikes. These levies are designed to make motorcyclists pay more for the privilege of being more likely to be hurt when other vehicles crash into us (or when we ourselves misjudge things). This in a supposedly "no fault" system - isn't that illogical? Our insurance wouldn't charge us more for accidents others caused. And a no fault system shouldn't charge anyone more. My car rego went up $30 to $198.46. My main bike rego went up by over $174 (from an already high base) to $426.92. My other bike costs $327.70. It's hard to want to make them all road legal when it seems the law is being an ass See new levies and read more.....

ACC Protest Rally, Parliament, Wellington 17th November 2009
Over 5000 motorcycles of all descriptions joined the convoy to ride in and we estimate another 1000 or so went straight to Parliament. The stadium concourse was literally full of motorcycles and it was both the biggest and the most peaceful protest Parliament has ever seen.

We need to protest - as a nation - what ACC is doing.

Who is WIMA?

WIMA is a club for women motorcyclists run by women motorcyclists, with all our Events open to any rider. We don't require you to attend a set number of events before you join, nor participate in a set number of events each year, simply come and join us and meet the girls.

WIMA offers something to all women: learners, pillions, commuters, easy-riders, off-roaders, tourers, racers, fair-weather riders, year-round riders and even armchair enthusiasts. Whatever category you belong to, you'll be welcome in WIMA.

Our members ride a range of bikes varying from Honda cruisers, Suzuki sports, BMW tourers, Kawazaki dual purpose bikes, Yamaha dirt bikes plus trikes and scooters, you name it, someone is riding it.

The best place to start is by Joining WIMA or Contact an Area Rep close to you.

We are a non-profit organisation and try to keep our Membership Fees as low as possible. We also support family orientated charities such as Lifeline and local Fire Brigade Services and our main charity ride being the Pink Ribbon Motorcycle Ride.

Come ride with us - Why not Join us for our Annual National Rally in November.
